It is only fair to thank all readers – and in this case, those in the Russian Federation and Ukraine. Ukraine was one of the top 5 countries in the 2022 readership statistics. It could be very likely that in that country readers have sought hardest to know the truth about where the world is in God’s timeline.
Not much has been discussed about this war in Church. It is not a very specific area of intense interest being far away in Europe to most. The war (or special military operation) in Ukraine has however been more unpleasant than others because it has been blamed for global inflation – especially with prices for commodities such as maize, wheat, cooking oil, and petroleum. All these have combined and cased suffering and inflation across the world – and in the most vulnerable nations in particular.
In the year 2021 a sister called for intercessory prayer because of fire (a war) in the North. By the time people woke up to the reality the fire was burning. Maybe not enough effort was made on that because people focus prayers on matters that they experience directly.
For some, the scarier thing about the current war is the potential for escalation. One only needs to remember that the immediate trigger for the First World War was a couple of bullets fired from an assassin’s pistol.
Over the years the spirit of God has spoken of a fire or war that would destroy mankind – with only a few persons escaping by God’s grace. The prophet Isaiah in the scriptures say that those who survive this fire will be scarcer than gold (Isaiah 13:2).
That last war (whenever it will be) will look like a war between nations as depicted in Revelations 20.Satan will go out to deceive nations – not to mean that he will be seen walking from door to door, but will act through the minds of people. While it will look like they are fighting each other, it will be a way for the LORD God to destroy them and purge mankind. For fire will come down from heaven and destroy them. It is clear that there are enough weapons already in existence that can rain fire from the sky. Some of them are as powerful as thousands of Hiroshima bombs.
Peter (2 Peter 3)explains that the end will come by surprise. People will be bragging and doing business as usual. That is why some will ask: Where is the one who promised to come? Has everything not continued in the same way since creation? The question will be directed to those preaching a physical resurrection (and you have heard them).
But eventually fire will come from heaven and destroy the nations – leaving only a few to inherit the earth. Till then the best option available is for people to make every effort to coexist peacefully and listen to each other. Least God decide to implement his plan sooner than intended.
