Happy new month all readers! October was quiet. And without reading last mentioned spoke was an Eden story (coming soon - sorry delay) The month was extremely busy for some - including weekends. However, The October season Ethiopia mission was paused but there is a lot more scheduled. The country brought some colorful images, and many have been shared on our Facebook page https://web.facebook.com/Gospel1932
For those who may not be Facebookers it may be a bit of a challenge, butg as much will be posted here - even with some extra information. From personal experience, some log in seasonally. Ours is a page and not a group, so the viewer or reader need not join anything - it is just there in the open. The comments section is more interactive, even editable so responses also come sooner. At times it is interesting to post in bits and watch reactions. Questions are most welcome.
This post contains what is known as Trinity Church - built to celebrate the end of the Italian occupation in 1942. As the reader may be aware, Ethiopia was never colonized - courtesy of Emperor Menelik II - whose palace will be posted here - alongside the Church he built. And while it was invaded and occupied some years latter, that is not counted as colonization because the country did not surrender but continued resistance. A colonized country is one that has been defeated to the extent that it is under the rule of civilians form the foreign country
So as the WWII approached Benito Musolini made an attempt to retake the country and was not successful. The last Emperor Haile Selassie then built the Church - which is the biggest of the Ethiopia Orthodox Churches. Selassie means Trinity and it was the name the Emperor was given on coronation. Otherwise his earlier name was Ras Tafari Makonen.
In the picture attached, the sisters from Gospel of God are looking at the mosaic windows from the inside. As the holy spirit explained during the prayers at the church, some souls had been raised as a result. Let us all remember that the raising of souls depicted in Revelations is not a physical event. That is why Peter in 2 Peter 3, indicates that everything will go on as usual until the final days when people will be punished - by fire.
