1.0 INTRODUCTION
The map above has been shared on Facebook before and elsewhere. It is available on Pinterest images so it is good to start by attributing it to them and giving due credit
The purpose of picking the map is that it tries to illustrate the table of nations in Genesis 10:6. It also goes back to Genesis 2 and attempts to illustrate the location of Eden
Everyone knows or believes the creation story Eden where Adam and Eve were – where snakes were talking to people and giving them apples to eat. Let’s revisit and take a second look but not about the apple or the fruit or the snake or tree - which many have also written about and given diverse opinions.
2.0 WHAT THE FOUNDER SAID ABOUT EDEN THAT YOU MAY NEVER HAVE HEARD (or IMAGINED)
According to Baba Johane, and the teachings from the holy spirit in Gospel of God to date, in Eden there was a church. Heard that before? Yes a church that had many worshippers for a long time 930 years. They had a covenant with God and that was the first covenant sometimes called Adamic or Covenant. They were the first believers but NOT the first people – because there were others before. This brings us to three facts to be discussed today. In summary:
2.1 Historically speaking Adam was not the first man
2.2 The Garden of Eden was in Kenya, Africa
2.3 There was a church in Eden for many years, when that Era ended, those who survived entered the Church of Enoch – which lasted for another millennium
3.0 ADAM WAS NOT THE FIRST MAN (HISTORICALLY)
Many will ask who the first man was if not Adam. However, any other man could not have been written about because the Bible is a book of Covenants – and how people interacted with God.
Genesis not a census or pure history book, it is also not a pure prophetic as some chapters talk mostly about the past. However, it does not explain creation literally, as it was not written by any eye witness but in the language of the Holy Spirit – full of imagery and codes. Some say it was written by Moses – a prophet. One should note that:
3.1 The same scriptures describe Jesus as the Second Man (Corinthians 15:47) or Adam – for Adam means man. This is not also a literal statement
3.2 There are many gaps in Genesis. Adam and Eve, Cain Abel and Seth. Those five (or four minus Abel) people cannot give rise to the whole world. There had to be other people not mentioned men and especially women.
3.3 There are two accounts of creation – the first overview of 7 days and the creation of Eden. They are not the same story. Let us remember that the same scriptures say that there is no difference between a day and a thousand years or a watch in the night in God’s eyes. We cannot understand his perception of time. And time is relative – for those who have had the mind to digest Einstein’s theory of relativity.
3.4 In Genesis 2:18-20 Animals are brought to Adam so that he would name them, and verse 19 concludes: No suitable helper was found (among the animals). Could the same God who created animals in two genders, had it in mind that a suitable helper would have been found for Adam without a female human species? If it was expected that a helper for Adam would have been found among the animals, then the so called Animals were people. For in the scriptures people have also been depicted as animals e.g. Peter and the vision of unclean animals in Joppa (Acts 10:14). Jesus has been compared to a lion (King|) of Judah and as a lamb, Satan to a lion, believers as sheep or fish. That remains the language of the Holy Spirit to date. That is the way Prophet Samuel Chinyanga taught – spiritually inferior people were seen as animals - refer to the analogy of the children and the dogs (Matthew 15:21-28).
3.5 When Cain killed Abel he went to Nod and married. Married whom? Many will assume his sister. Who says he had a sister? That is an assumption. Who says he married his sister? Remember Cain’s punishment was being banished alone. What was the sin of Adam’s imaginary daughter to be banished as well? Genesis 4:13-14. Cain builds a city. For how many people? However, this historically feasible because most of the earliest cities date back to 7,000 years. Only a few earlier – one or two in Turkey.
3.6 Again (Genesis 4:13-15) Cain protested to God that whoever found him would kill him. If there was no other person, who was this potential killer? God did not assure Cain that there were no other people out there but only raised the stakes higher by indicating that he would kill seven in revenge. Who were these seven (7) people who were less valuable to God than Cain a convicted murderer? Children of Adam? Why were they NOT killed to avenge the death of Abel? Where did they come from – if Genesis is the Census that many try to furnish it into? The fact is there were people elsewhere. And who would kill Cain in the first place? If it were family members why does the fear only arise when he is banished from Eden?
4.0 THE GARDEN OF EDEN WAS IN KENYA, AFRICA
Baba Johane spoke fondly of Kenya his base for global evangelism. There was no war in Rhodesia when the ‘Shona’ left there. Zambia another Evangelical Country where they eventually moved brought an era of success and prosperity to the church and its individual members that is yet to be equaled. However, missionaries were asked to go and settle in Kenya – which he referred to as Eden. The question is what indicates that Eden was in Kenya or Even in Africa in the first place?
4.1 A stream flowed in Eden (Genesis 2:10). BEYOND Eden it is divided into 4 rivers. The second one, the only one flowing through a country that is well known and been mentioned in the scriptures throughout and is an African country is Gihon - it flows through the country of Cush (used in reference to Ethiopia/Sudan. The Gihon is the Nile and like many other rivers has several names e.g. Athi, Galana, Sabaki, … depending on whom you ask.
There is no indication that Eden was in present day Ethiopia (or the Blue Nile Basin) as some have hypothesized. Thus the usage of the word BEYOND. So Gihon is the Nile and the other river could be one of Africa’s mighty rivers. Just thinking if one was asked to look for a river Basin full of minerals or precious stones as described in Genesis some logical choices could be the Congo – a country full of minerals of all kinds including coltan and sadly the uranium that bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Or better still the Zambezi that flows from the same DRC mineral rich South Eastern (Katanga) Region to Zambia and Zimbabwe where LONRHO – LondonRhodesia the once biggest conglomerate in Africa made a kill. This is just thinking loudly but still would support the Eden in Africa perspective.
5.0 THERE WAS A CHUCH IN EDEN
5.1 This is not talked about but Eden was a place just like anywhere else God has manifested is presence – in Africa, Europe, or Asia – Israel included. God was not literally walking there playing hide and seek with people. The power of the spirit of God worked through prophets including Adam, Eve and Abel (Luke 11:50-51). For if God was literally walking in Eden, this would negate the need for a prophet such as Abel.
5.2 And people worshipped in Eden for 930 years (that Adam lived, or is equated to his lifetime). This was the first millennium (less 70 years) that were later accounted for – and is the counting point for the 7th millennium in Revelations 20 – as explained by Evangelist Philip Muregerera.
