PHOTO: In the picture are the two councils – represented by two members each. Closer to the foreground is Dare Peter and the other is Dare Jacobo. Dare in Shona is a court but these are more than courts as they also lead, provide oversight, make decisions, manage or delegate.
1. BACK TO THE EQUATOR
The much-awaited equator re-visit and prayers are in progress – if you will be reading this on Sunday - Kenya time. There is live coverage for the journey, and hopefully for most, or all of the event.
According to Word from above, equator prayers were to be done before the team from Australia arrived, but for unavoidable reasons they were postponed and Wednesday evening prayers were done instead.
It is an open event and the biggest limitation has been transport – especially taking into account the many visitors.
2. VISITORS
It is important to remember that because of the many visitors, programs have changed and will not be easy to predict. Under normal circumstances, yesterday Sabbath was a likely date for us to know what happened in Australia, but that was overtaken by events. Apart from having meetings and networking with others, our guests are attending today’s prayers at the Equator in Nyahururu, and expect to go to Gede. There are about two dozen sisters who accompanied Dare Jacobo and they will surely want to see the church and facilities in Gede.
Nairobi truly appreciates the presence of all those who came form South Africa, UK, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Sudan, Mozambique, Botswana, or elsewhere.
To the many who wanted to come but were unable to, there will be another opportunity.
From the social media team, we truly appreciate your online presence. The live coverage not planned for and there are equipment and other challenges.
However, because of those of who called the elders and told them that you wanted to see what was happening, we were asked to find ways of broadcasting or involving other media. Thank you. In future we hope to have quality equipment that can broadcast live. Although there has been the big camera and previously a laptop, those would not have been useful at JKIA or Equator or even in Church yesterday. There was even no space to place it or move around with it. But with your support, a lot else will be possible.
3. AUSTRALIA VIDEOS AND PHOTOS
Team Australia has already assured us that they have lots of video and photos. They will be shared as usual. Sharing includes explaining what happened, where or when … After the church is briefed, there has been a suggestion that we go step by step from Nairobi to Australia - destination by destination until the journey back is covered. We are also faithfully waiting for the Australia presentation because we will build our story from it.
